Hello April..

Hello there April and please hurry up and spread your spring-like weather quickly over us, here in Toronto!

So happy that today is the 1st day of April. A new month always gives us all a fresh start, a new beginning to whatever is going on with our lives. New month, new you, a chance to disregard all that is negative from the last month and re-start.

Also, April means that the two awesome and important people in my life are celebrating their birthdays this month.

A day after each other! My best friend, Fernanda is April 5th and my husband, whom I call ‘papa’, is on the 6th. Isn’t this hell cray?

This month not only is a happy month for me, but it also stresses me out! I have to plan both birthdays at the same time!

Last year it was my husband’s milestone 50th birthday. I surprised him to a quick getaway to Las Vegas and stayed at the most amazing luxury hotel,  as my present to him, and then when we got back, I threw him an awesome birthday party. Then for Fernanda; poor girl, we didn’t celebrate hers until a couple of weeks later, because I had to bounce back from all the partying from my husband’s celebration. Uggh!

So let me tell you about my BFF Fernanda

This woman is my ultimate most loyal, nonjudgemental, most hysterical friend I have ever had. To top it off, she treats me like a damn princess. Always too generous and very accommodating to my demanding and as she puts it ‘diva’ ways! Last year we went to Cuba together and had the most chill and relaxing and binge eating time ever. We have everything in common.

She also loves to read my blog and supports me happily in everything that I do. I love her to death.

My husband, on the other hand, is the opposite of me. He is a workaholic and I’m not. I love love to eat, he couldn’t less about eating. He even said ‘blend all the food together and I shall eat it from a straw’! I’m like ‘what the hellllllll”.

In relationships, you don’t always have to have everything in common. Just be in LOVE! (I’m a romantic)

We’ve been together since 1987 and known each other since 1982, so I think you can figure out that, we are totally in love with each other. Through thick and thin with this man. He spoils me rotten, puts up with all my demands, (sorry am I sounding too much of a brat here?), cuz I’m not, really. LOL

My husband is the most hardworking person I have ever known. He works so damn hard, it is really upsetting that he doesn’t need or want a break, ever.

That’s when I step in and show him what life has to offer other than work. He complains at first, but then is the first person to jump in the pool with all his clothes on or the first one to plop on the bed in the resort, with a big ass smile and saying in a long drawn “yaaaaaaaas, this is the life!” I laugh with a sigh of relief and saying to myself how much I love this man of mine.

I love April because I get to celebrate these two wonderful people in my life.
