I love love salmon! It’s the most simplest meal to make and it’s healthy and it’s quick!
Cooking salmon takes little time and that’s what you need when you’re so tired from work all day, but still want a delicious dinner!
All you need to figure out what sides you want with it and off you go. I usually have asparagus or salad or quick Uncle Ben’s rice! I love my rice and if you want to change it up from plain steamed rice, pair it up with Uncle Ben’s.ย They have a variety. This meal I chose Chinese Fried Rice. Just prep your salmon, throw it in the oven for 15-2o minutes, and voila! While the salmon is in the oven, your rice is on the stove cooking at the same time. Its really fast.
Asparagus is even faster, because I cook mine, not all the way. Frying it for about 7 minutes will have the crunchiness to it.
Ingredients
Salmon
Onions
Minced Garlic
Carrots
Salmon seasoning
Cayenne pepper
Salt
Mrs. Dash
Olive Oil
Uncle Ben’s rice
Asparagus
Maggi Sauce
Wash Salmon first. I always wash all my proteins first. Then season Salmon with all the dry ingredients and finish off with just a bit of olive oil. Only use salt, slightly, as the salmon seasoning already has salt it in.
Do not cover and place into the oven with the temperature of 400 degrees. After about 10 minutes, I usually check on it and use a spoon and just scoop up a bit of that olive oil that’s gathered around the salmon and spread the oil onto the salmon entirely. This moistens the salmon and not give it a dry out taste.
Twenty minutes should complete the cooking process.
For Uncle Ben’s rice, just follow the instructions on the package.
For asparagus & carrots, make sure you wash it first. Peel and slice carrots with the desired thickness. Cut off the ends of asparagus because they are really thick and we don’t eat that part. Cut asparagus mid way, where the thinness part is. Fry it with any seasoning you want. I usually use Mrs. Dash that has the lemon flavour. Then as I’m frying them add a splash of Maggi sauce. This gives veggies an awesome flavour, light and not heavy like soya sauce. Don’t forget to add your onions and minced garlic!
You know your salmon is done when you pitch a peace of salmon with a fork and it’s flaky and no longer pink.
Enjoy!
