Sassafraz Review

My husband and I went to Sassafraz for Winterlicious 2017.

Sassafraz is located in the heart of Yorkville, downtown Toronto.

It’s a cute little house like restaurant, with painted yellow exterior.

Ambiance

Before entering I already thought the restaurant is so pretty with its yellow exterior. When I entered, it was even prettier, with its evenly spaced out white linen covered tables. The room felt light and airy with a sophisticated flare. You certainly feel important here, lol.

Staff

We were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner and was seated promptly.

Our server was fine at first then throughout our meal, she was nowhere in sight. At the end of our meal, I had to flag another server to ask for our bill. ย That was quite disappointing. I would expect a posh place like this, the server would have been more attentive.

Foodie

Baby Spinach & Kale

  • orange
  • fennel
  • gold beets
  • pistachio
  • bee pollen
  • champagne vinaigrette

This salad was so amazing I could eat it all day!

Canadian Atlantic Salmon

  • mixed quinoa
  • gherkin caper sautรฉed kale
  • sugar snap peas
  • red chili cream

Salmon is my favourite, and this was so delicious especially paired up with quinoa!

Flourless Chocolate Cake

  • grand marnier caramel
  • orange salt and segment
  • vanilla creme fraiche

All I can say: friggin yummy!

Conclusion

This restaurant was beautiful from inside and out. Tables were placed perfectly for those intimate conversations, the decor is beautiful and light, the food just scrumptious!

This was another amazing Winterlicious choice!
