Purple Rain Icon Died Today

Today my girlfriend’s and I rushed to my car on our way for our lunch break, towards Ni Ji Sushi Japanese Restaurant.  The usual banter of work and laughter and shouts of “we’re starving”filled the air… I shuffled through the radio stations not hearing anything of the pending saddening news thats about to shock us before we sit down and engulf our meals.  My girlfriend Gillian exclaimed that her friend stated that TMZ stated that Prince just died! I’m like, that’s TMZ , do you believe them half the time? (Ok fine we do, I’m just in denial here) This is Prince. He didn’t die, no he didn’t , stop it. But he did.  How sad is this news today? Very sad to me.

Sunshiny Day

Today is Saturday and I am helllll happy! Why? Cuz it’s Saturday, no work, no hitting the snooze button on that stinking alarm to my left on my end table, and it’s a beautiful sunshiny day! God, I love the sun, the vibrancy of it, the feeling of aliveness when it fills my house.  All the curtains are wide open, my bay windows radiate all this lovely glow of brightness and so does my kitchen and my dining room and living room windows, I am in la la land.  The Sunshine transforms me into a whole new human being.

A mothers love

Today I went to my old neighbourhood, which is in North York, On. This is where I used to live with my sister and my mother. I lived in this apartment building from grade four till grade 10. We lived on the second floor  and my room had the view facing the swimming pool and the tennis court, it was great. The good old days when I used to have family in my life.  I often come to this spot when I need to be close to her, my mom. My daughter could tell you this.  She knows everything  about me, all my thoughts, my feelings, where I go, when I need to be close to my mom. It’s here.
