Explore your City – Harbourfront Toronto – July 2020

On the weekend my papa and I went out on a date night downtown Toronto.

It’s been a while since we’ve visited there together because usually, it’s me who likes to gallivant in the busier areas and he’s not much of a fan.

This particular day he was and I fully embraced his enthusiasm, you know what I’m talking about right girls!

During this pandemic, its a great time to explore your own city instead of traveling far; and my city is beautiful Toronto.

Harbourfront is a 10-acre site nestled along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. On a sunny day, it is such a beautiful stroll and many activities to catch your attention.

Here’s a link to beautiful images, take a look here!

There are many restaurants by the waterfront, just be prepared to stand in line and wait or leave your info and be texted when your table is available the way we did. (an hour wait)

The lake was full of sailboats and yachts, showboats, taxi boats with customers being dropped on and off to Centre Island, you also have people on jet ski’s whizzing by and couples enjoying their dinner on one of many dinner cruises anchored temporarily on the shore.

We promised to come back and enjoy a dinner cruise! Here is a link I will be using.

I’ve noticed the crowd remained their distance and all restaurant employees sanitized diligently after each patron; I was impressed!

We ate our meal and people watched and enjoyed our evening. The ambiance and the surrounding was such a welcome change from where we live where it’s always quiet. I love a very stimulating environment and glad to have been out in a busy area for a change!

If you’re like me and need a place where it’s lively, a variety of food, many things to occupy the mind, places to sit and enjoy the waterfront and the lovely weather, well visit Harbourfront, it’s beautiful here.

Hotel Riu Republica – Hotel Review March 2020

Hotel Riu Republica, Adults only Hotel, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

My husband and I arrived here on March 5th for our week-long vacation in paradise.

It was paradise. Beautiful and gorgeous paradise.

Ambiance

This resort is huge! We arrived very late because our flight from Toronto was delayed for 4 hours. It was quite horrid but still, I was excited, I’m on vacation and I didn’t care so much. It is what it is.

Check-in was painstakingly slow. I was surprised to see only 2 staff members checking in the latecomers.

We were all pretty tired and hungry and just needed our rooms.

The lobby was spacious and as we were guided to our rooms, the resort even at night when all was still, the white buildings were elegant and gorgeous. The layout of this resort holds true resemblance to the last resort we stayed at Riu Playa Blanca in Panama. You can check out the resort here.

Room

The first room we were given was not up to par and of course, I stated that and they moved us quickly into another room that was just perfect. It was facing the courtyard where I can people watch and I was hell satisfied, yay!

As I normally do, my first room to check for cleanliness is the bathroom. It was clean and I was hell happy!

The room was spacious and bright and I was very content. Thank you.

Stone Gate Inn – Hotel Review Oct 2019

We stayed at this hotel because Kenny G was in town and the hotel looked cute and cozy.

The hotel was cute and comfy and very quiet.

Check-in was quick and the staff was very welcoming.

On our way to our room, we were greeted by hotel guests and also from the staff. Everyone was really friendly and immediately I felt great about that.

Our room was just right and very clean. We faced the parking lot at the front of the hotel and I was fine with that.

The bathroom had plenty of towels for just the two of us and was spotless.

There was a small kitchenette with Keurig coffee, microwave, and small fridge. We didn’t use any of these.

On the shelves beside the tv, I was happily surprised that they had a VCR, like how amazing is that? I haven’t seen a VCR in a thousand years. That was hell crazy! of course along with that, they also had a DVD player. But still, that VCR!!

My husband loved the bed, he wanted to ask where to buy one.

It was quiet when we came back from seeing Kenny G and from the moment we woke up.

No unwanted heard conversations between the walls. It was great!

The continental complimentary breakfast wasn’t bad either. It was busy but still, everyone looked happy including me.

They had a waffle maker and that makes me hell happy.

There is a pool and Gym, but we did not use any facilities.

The staff like I said were very nice and cheerful.

We were right beside  Foodland, a grocery store,  in case you wanted to buy snacks or something to munch on, in your room.

This hotel is about a 15-minute drive to Casino Rama.

It was a short but very comfortable and pleasant stay.
