Lamesa – Restaurant Review

669 Queen Street West

Visited this place May 2017, with my daughter.

This restaurant is Filipino-inspired food, great for weekend brunch and/or dinner.

Ambiance

Great vibe, alive with vibrant conversations. Music was a blast from the past of all 80’s, which I totally am in love with. Low lighting, but we were seated near the only window there, so it was good enough for me. The windows faced Queen Street West.

We arrived here at 1 pm and was seated right away. I noticed that by 2:30 it was a little bit of a wait for other patrons.

Service/Staff

A bit on the slow side, but well worth the wait. We ordered our beverages and the server forgot about my daughter’s Calamansi juice. We pointed this out to our server and he apologized profusely and brought it to our table in a flash! To top that off even further, he said it was on the house. Hello! Awesome first impression, don’t you think!

Foodie

Silog Breakfast $13

Choice of boneless bangus (fish), pork belly tocino or pork longanisa, served with cassava hash, 2 fried eggs, greens and garlic rice.

This meal was hell awesome, delicious and worth the wait. Everything on this plate was yummy, you have to try to dish!

Salmon Benny $13

Longanisa cured Salmon, poached eggs, spicy suka (vinegar) ย hollandaise, house ensaymada mixed greens salad.

My daughter had this and she woofed it down pretty quickly, I believed it was delicious!

Calamansi (lime) juice was refreshing and not too sweet $4

Coffee was good as well $3

Final Thoughts

I would definitely come back here and try their other dishes, especially on a Sunday for dinner, where I’ve read that the meal is cutlery free! My kind of thing!
