Carbon Bar – Restaurant Review 2017

99 Queen Street East, Toronto, ON

Paid parking right in front of restaurant

Went here today for Father’s Day with my husband, son and daughter.

Ambiance

Upon arrival the Host asked for our reservation name and seated us right away.

This restaurant is amazing and beautiful. With its high ceiling, open concept and warehouse-ish style, I fell in love instantly! The kitchen was to the left and back of the room where guests can witness the hustle & bustle of the cooks creation.

The light fixtures, the big clock against the back wall by the bar to the right of the restaurant and the tables placed just right with plenty of elbow room, in between other patrons, made this place comfy, yet electric.

Staff

The Host was welcoming with a pleasant demeanor. Our server was gracious, prompt and had a positive character. He gave us time to look at the menu and through out our meal, did not rush us or be annoying. He approached us in spread out spurts, just how we like it.

Food

Prixe Fixe Brunch $25

  • Cappucino – this was amazing
  • 2 choices of pastries, Cheese & Pecan , delicious as hell
  • chocolae bourbon skull, miniture but tasty
  • Chicken “N” Waffles, Butter milk fried chicken, citrus crema, honey, chili & garlic sauce. This meal was absolutely delicious. The chicken was soft, yet crunchy. The seasoning, was just right.

Buttermilk Pancakes $15

  • wild blueberry, maple syrup, lemon yogurt

These were soft and fluffy. Delicious! I added smoked bacon on the side $3.50

Smoked Brisket Benny $18

  • Bisket, poached eggs, red cabbage slaw, anaheim chili, dill pickle, hollandaise sauce

Brisket was tender and totally savory. Cabbage was crunchy and not soggy.

Carbon Cheeseburger $21

  • 8oz beef patty, lettuce, charred red onion, smoked bacon, aged Gouda, dill pickle, ballpark mustard, smoked chili and mayo
  • served with Frie

This burger was juicy and cooked just right. It was mouthwatering.

Juice $6 Coffee $3.50

Final Thoughts

I truly enjoyed eating here, it is my kind of place. Spacious, airy, clean, great servers, welcoming atmosphere, vibrant and alive. I would of course come back and try other things on the menu! I love this place!
